North & South - Well, to be fair, I should title this post: Me Fangirling Over Richard Armitage

One of Elizabeth Gaskell's exquisite novels, North & South, was turned into a BBC miniseries in 2004. I have seen it a few times over the years, yet my mother seemed to have forgotten or slept through her one and only viewing of this outstanding drama. So, as any good daughter would, I begged and pleaded and bartered until she finally agreed to watch it with me so that she could truly treasure and cherish this remarkable viewing experience.

As you can imagine, if you have seen North & South - Which on a side note: if you haven't seen it, please do so. Now. Immediately. Seriously, go. Get your snacks, take your pody break, and prepare yourself for the brooding wonder that is Richard Armitage. Enjoy the show! - But I digress; as I was saying, my Mother was in for an amazing adventure in the world of feelings. As we watched our way through the ups and downs of the story, (spoilers!) she did what most of us women do when put face to face with such a brooding and honorable man, she fell in love with John Thornton. Now, I, of course, as her very-single daughter, fell with much more severity all over again. I have been a fan for a long time, and was ever so pleased to hold my fangirl head high knowing I had done my duty and brought into the fold, a new fan.

Now, as for the secondary title: How dreamy is Richard Armitage?

Sir Guy of Gisborne
My first sighting of this handsome man was as Guy of Gisborne in BBC's Robin Hood. (Which on another side note, was a good series. However, it shall would take far too long to discuss each season and its unique issues. Another day, another post.) he was intensely more broody as Gisborne, if you can fathom such a thing, and played the role impeccably.

Then my next sighting was in MI5 (or Spooks) another BBC series, though this time a then modern-day spy drama. I never really watched this show so I am unsure of his character, however my Mother, who was an ardent fan of the show, assures me that his acting was superb.

Heinz Kruger
After that, I made do with the small part in Captain America: The First Avenger, which as a huge MARVEL fan I had to love it. And I will be 100% honest with you. While googling these pictures, I was reminded that Chris Evans and Richard Armitage fought. Yeah... I know violence isn't attractive, but hey! What's a girl gonna do when two gorgeous men start throwing punches?

Princie Prince McBrody Pants
Then all us fangirls were in for a delightful surprise when Mr. Armitage chose to grow the epicest beard-to-beat-all-beards, drop a few feet in height, and become the favored son of Thrain son of Thror, Thorin Oakenshield. Whom me and my sister affectionately refer to as, Princie Prince McBroody Pants. Seriously though, the Brood is strong with this one.

Harry Kennedy
And of course, I was also reminded during my google search that he was a character on the most outrageously inappropriate British comedy, The Vicar of Dibley. And though I have yet to seen his character on the show, I am sure it is as adorable wonderful as all the photos I saw online.... I am beginning to realize that this entire post makes me seem very stalker-ish. Very, stalker-ish. Promise I'm not.
Sigh... Fangirls have it rough people. Fangirls have it rough.

In summary: My Mom loves North & South.
Richard Armitage is an incredible actor with a stunning appeal.
He's broody as I'll get out, and I like it.
